Happy Mother's Day!

Today, I celebrate my third Mother's Day! I have the most amazing daughter-wild and crazy, but amazing nonetheless! I was blessed to celebrate today with not only Lily, but all of our family. Eli, my cousin, celebrated his first birthday. It was fun watching him to dive into his cupcake!

We want to give a special thanks to our moms, Melanie and Chris. They not only take care of us, but they are so wonderful with Lily. We cannot say thank you enough for all they do for us. How fortunate we are to have them in our lives!!

Jeff and I are off to Florida in a few days...let the prayers begin for a safe 50 miles!

Congrats to my cousin Megan and her husband Matt on the addition of their brand new baby girl. Phoebe was born at 10:46pm last night. She was 7lb 6oz and 20.5 inches long. It was a bit of a journey for Megan (from what I hear), but everyone seems to be fine. I am going to go to the hospital later and take a peek. I told Megan that her little baby might just make me want to have another one. I hope she doesn't hold me too that so soon!

Saturday

I cannot believe it is May! The past two Saturdays, the track team has had meets. We haven't done as well as I hoped, but we will see how the upcoming conference meet goes. Next Saturday, I will be running the mini marathon in Indy. Two weeks from today I will be running the Keys Ultra. I am excited to be getting away with Jeff for a few days. Traci and I always seem to have great adventures together! :)

After a long track day, it was nice to come home to Lily's smiling face...here are some photos from today. She was THRILLED to play with the water table.

My mom and cousin snapped these two pictures today. Anyone who knows Lily knows that falling asleep like this NEVER happens! That's what happens when she gets up at 5:00 am.

What's going on?

It has been another busy week! The end of the school year is always crazy. Track practices and meets have been making it even more nuts! :) It is hard to believe that it will be May soon.

FIRST OFF: Happy belated 29th birthday to my sister Sarah! :)

Knee updates: I went to the doctor, and it looks like my ITband (muscle from knee to hip) is a bit of a mess. It is mostly inflamation-this is a good thing because it can be treated. I will be going to physical therapy a couple times a week for some stretches and scar tissue scraping. I just finished a week of steriods. I have run once and been in the pool a few times this week. I plan on running several times next week (still not too long, but more than this week). Knock on wood-everything feels much better. I cannot wait to go to Florida next month! I know it sounds crazy to most, but this race is just what I need right now. Lots of time on the road with Traci, and hopefully, an ice, cold margarita at the finish!

Hello World!

It seems like it has been forever since I made a post! Track meets officially started last week. This makes for some really late evenings. I am happy to report we are 2-0! Off to a great start but always bigger goals to reach.

Training for my race is going okay. It was much easier to run when Traci was here! I was more motivated. My knee hasn't been cooperating, so this week I have been icing and cutting back slightly. We will see if I can get a nice, long run in this weekend. I am trying to get Jeff and Lily to bike with me, so I have someone to talk to!

Lily is doing great. She is full of personality! She talks more everyday and seems to teach me something new. I just got done reading her collection of Dr. Seuss books with her and listening to her sing. Every time I leave the house, she asks "Is mommy running?" I think it is cute that she pays attention to what I am doing. Lately, she has loved spending time helping me pull weeds (she mostly digs in the dirt). I am looking forward to this summer because I know we will get to run around and do fun things together.

I am also happy to report that Jeff and I mailed in our 2008 and 2009 taxes today! You have no idea how much stress this has been causing me! The damage wasn't too bad! :)
