Watching the hot air balloons

We were able to spend several hours this afternoon at Morrow's Meadow-a park in Yorktown. We met several of my teaching friends and their kids there for a play date. It was such a beautiful day to run around and play. Lily had a blast! Later, Jeff showed Lily some hot air balloons in the backyard. She was amazed :)

Newly Stained Deck

Here are some pictures of our newly stained deck. After 6-7 hours, I am finally finished! If Jeff doesn't like it, he can spend some time staining, but my back can't take anymore :) I think it turned out pretty good.

There were A LOT of spindles to paint!

Island Muncie

Lily enjoyed her ice cream!

Last night, we ventured off the Greenway to Island Muncie-one of our favorite smoothie/ice cream places! They had a live Jazz singer last night, so it was pretty crowded. Lily danced and played. It was a nice way to spend a summer evening. Check it out if you haven't been: http://theislandmuncie.com/

Kids say the funniest things!

All of the sudden, Lily is talking NONSTOP! Some of the things she has been coming up with crack me up. I wanted to share a few funny sayings from the last couple days. I figured I should write them down before I forget...

1. In her prayers, she has been blessing Chico and Sam (Hannah's cat and my parent's dog). She remembers random people and pets.
2. "Mommy, I can't go to sleep because I am sick." She wasn't sick at all. In fact, she was playing rather loudly before saying this. Just one of her new ways of getting out of bed.
3. We have been potty training Lily. She is doing awesome and has been in big girl panties. Today, she needed to go number 2, so we rushed in there and she took care of business. When she was finished, she looked at me and said, "I feel much better now." I suppose she did!
4. New funny phrase: "Look at that, yikes!"
5. Tonight she yelled at Jeff from her bedroom, "Daddy I need a dwank, water with ice." A bit demanding!
6. After swim lessons tonight, we were changing in the locker room with several other young kids/moms. Who is singing off key at the top of her lungs? You guessed it, Lily! I asked her to whisper and she said, "I need to sing Pop Goes the Weasel." And she did...very loudly, with laughs from the audience.
7. She made me a plate of cupcakes today (from play doe) and sang happy b-day. She then blew out fake candles. I think it is funny that she remembered that from my birthday a couple days ago.
8. I told her we were going to swim lessons and I brought her two piece bathing suit to put on her. She said "no, I need the striped one." There goes all my power in picking out her outfits. Man!
9. Our favorite treat this summer-smoobies (smoothies)!

She definitely keeps me laughing. We are working on an inside/whisper voice right now. Pray she finds it soon!

It's a BIG day!

Today is Father's Day and my 27th Birthday! We were able to celebrate with some pretty special dads yesterday (my dad (Papaw Jim), daddy Jeff, Uncle Eric, Uncle Pat, and Jeff's dad (Papaw Pat)). We had cook-outs and swam, and we even had cake for my birthday. It was a great day! Looking forward to a wonderful day today.

In just one year...

I was looking through photos and came across last summer's folder. I cannot believe how much Lily has grown! First of all, she has triple the hair (which is still just a small amount compared to some other girls her age). She is still just as smiley, though :) I can't believe how much she talks and asks questions these days!

The first one is from last summer (about this time)...

A Day at the Klump Farm

We headed to Aurora, IN today for Jeff's cousin's graduation party. His uncle, Tom, has a farm with lots of space and animals. We have been before, but I knew Lily would have a blast this time since she is much older. She loved all the animals (even though it was very hot and muggy). She was in heaven when she got to hold the baby kittens. Congrats to Kenny on graduating from high school! Thanks for a great day!
