Weekend Activities

Today, my mom, dad, Hannah, Lily, Ty and I braved the snow flurries and headed to the Indy Children's Museum. It was actually free admission, so it was a great day to go. They had so many exhibits and things to do. Lily and Ty played in the Bob the Builder room, we saw lots of Barbies, splashed in the water, dug in the sand, and saw dinos and trains! We had such a nice time. I think the kids were happy to be out of the house. Winter is dragging on!

We also celebrated my Papaw's 78th birthday on Valentine's Day. I posted a few pics of that too!

Happy belated birthday Papaw!...

Big Girl Bed

We put up Lily's full size bed last weekend. While shopping at Target (Jeff will tell you I spend too much time and money at this store), I found this bed set. It matched Lily's walls and things she already has in her room, but it looked a little more grown-up than her crib comforter she has been using. The best thing about it-it was only $30! The sheets, pillow shams, bed skirt, and comforter came in the set. I was proud of this bargain, and, if she ruins it, I am not out much! She is loving the grown-up space!

Uncle Stephen sent this Minnie doll today in the mail for Valentine's Day. She is reading her Pinkalicious book to her! Thanks Stephen for thinking of her!

And then I noticed, we have only had this Minnie doll for a couple of hours, and Lily already gave her some eye shadow. Yes, she colored on her eyes with black crayon when I wasn't looking. She said she was "pretty." Luckily, daddy was able to scrub it off, and the doll is good as new.

Another funny...my sister told me a while back that she has my nephew, Ty, fill-in the blank each night to "God Bless..." as part of his bed routine. I started doing this. Every night Lily says, "God Bless Annie, June, Leo, Quincy, and Rocket" (the characters from Little Einstein's cartoon). Who do you think the first person she blessed tonight was? Minnie Mouse of course! I love these moments. "God Bless Daddy and Mommy" usually comes with some coaxing!! Gotta love our little angel!

Delays and Cancellations

What a week! Lots of snow and cold weather has blasted us! One positive: school delays and cancellations :) Monday and Wednesday we had 2 hour delays. Tuesday we were cancelled. Lily and I spent time hanging out. We even made it to story time at the library yesterday. Even though it is nice to have extra hours with Lily, I am definitely ready for spring weather.

Ready, Set, Sled!

After a wonderful lunch at Nana's, we bundled up and headed to McCullough Park for some sledding. It was perfect weather-warmer with the sun shining! Here are some shots of Lily's first experience on the sled. She would say "again" every time we hit the bottom, so I guess she enjoyed it!

hiking up the hill with Lily was a workout!

ana and lily almost hit the tree!

Red, White, and Bed!

After a lazy morning, we decided to go to the BSU women's basketball game. Jeff's dad was kind and got us into the game (and even snuck us some popcorn-most of which Lily gobbled down). After the game, Jeff and I decided to go buy a new mattress for Lily's full size bed. This is our last attempt to get her to stop coming into our room in the middle of the night. It is a really nice mattress, and she was excited about it. I gave her 4 pillows to cuddle with and all of her stuffed pals. At least if she wakes up, I can lay in there comfortably until she falls back to sleep. OR worst case scenario-Lily and I will be sleeping in our bed and Jeff can have her room so he can get a good night's sleep!

this was how Lily's hair looked after her nap today! We have been waiting so long for hair that it is funny to see it sticking up!

pics from the BSU game...

Lily was into it!

....and she ate an entire thing of popcorn!

She also yelled "Charlie" the entire time.

This was the half time show-dogs doing tricks...pretty cool!

A couple of new bed pics. We just set it up tonight, so I still need to go buy new bedding and put the room together.
