Summer Goals

I have been really bad at keeping up-to-date with summer goals.  Now that summer is almost over, I want to post about some of them!  You can read my original summer goals here.  We have been pretty successful.  However, everything just takes lots of time and money.  And we never seem to have enough of either one!

Goal one was the office (done).  Goal two was Lily's curtains (done).  Goal three was a deck box for the breezeway. My sister found this for me at Sam's Club for $100.  It holds so much stuff!  It is great for toys and dog items.

Goal five was to put in a playset for the kids.  A couple of weeks ago, Jeff brought this home.  He is doing a painting job right now and the family moved out of state and asked if we wanted this.  Yes, duh!  It serves it purpose well and keeps them entertained!

Goal four was to tear out the front landscape and put in drain tile, hook-up the well, and replace all the landscaping.  This has been a long process because I didn't want to buy plants with how little rain we were getting this summer.  Today, I finally purchased them and Jeff helped me to put them in.  We still need to mulch, but it is looking less bare!  Here are a couple pics...

This first picture is from the first day we owned the house.  It is hard to tell, but the landscaping wasn't too great.  Lots of dying bushes, rocks instead of mulch, TWO wishing wells!

 

Here is a picture after we ripped everything out to find the well and put drain tile in.

This is a quick picture of the new flowers.  They are so small right now, but the bushes get bigger.  In a couple of years, it should look really nice!
