Friday night, our friend Sara Thomas (she was in my sorority) headed up from Evansville. After an eventful 7 hour trip, Sarah and I took her to have smoothies. Saturday morning, we all headed to swim lessons at the YMCA. When we returned, Amanda, Chris, and Lyla Yingling (our college friends from Linton) came into town. Kendra and Hannah Misbach came over to play too! Hannah and Lyla just turned one. It was fun to watch all the little kiddos run around together. Lily needs more playdates like this! Newlyweds Chris and Monica Daugherty also came to hang out for a little bit. We enjoyed the company of friends and appreciate everyone who traveled to see us!

Friend Weekend Part 1-Friday

This weekend, several friends were in town to have a visit. Traci is here from Florida until Wednesday. She went running with me Friday morning (you can see the pictures above). It was so nice to have her as my running partner for the day-I am trying to convince her to move back to Muncie for good! Friday night, Sarah, Ty, Lily and I went to watch Hannah compete with her horse King at the fairgrounds. She did AWESOME! I didn't snap to many horse pictures, but Megan took a ton that I will be stealing :)

Well, many of you know of our sleeping battles with Lily. After 2 weeks of screaming, we decided to put her mattress down on the floor and see if the "freedom" helped her sleep. She has been going to bed in her room the last couple of nights. She has gotten up and come into our room in the middle of the night, but at least it is better than screaming! We decided to take down her crib. It was a little sad to see her baby bed taken apart. Another sign that she is growing up way to fast. She thinks the mattress on the floor is so much fun. All of her babies and stuffed animals get tucked in with her. Hopefully, she continues to do better with sleeping. In a few more months, we may put together her real "big girl" bed (when I am not so nervous about her tumbling to the floor). Besides worrying about beds, we have been spending a lot of time swimming at Jeff's parents' pool. Lily loves the water!

Well...we thought we weren't going to have anything do this evening, but luckily, Mimi, Papaw Jim, Aunt Hannah, Nana, Megan, Matt, Uncle Joe, Aunt Lisa, and Elizabeth came over. We cooked out in the rain and even did some fireworks!!! Lily LOVED them (well...until Papaw lit one the wrong way and it made a horrible noise). Lily even stayed up until 10:00...the latest ever :) Megan took some great pictures tonight. Thanks to everyone for making the 4th so much fun!

Happy Independence Day!

We got up early and have shopped at Lowes already for plants and other yard items. Hopefully, we will spend this 4th of July being productive and getting something done :) I thought that Lily is her "Reds" dress would be the perfect picture for this holiday. Thanks to our friend Elaine and her mother for making the dress and bow. Too cute!

Let them sleep in the middle...

fighting sleep with her blankie, duckie, and bear

Future Miss America

Hannah put all of her bows in her hair...Lily thought it was funny!

goofy!

"Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle, let 'em sleep in the middle...oh let them be
little!"
This country song has been on my mind this past week because Lily has only wanted to be a part of our bed. She has reverted back to her old, horrible, crying fits when it comes to sleeping. I thought we were over it (she was sleeping so well), but after her ear infection, things went downhill. Now, some of you are out there saying (my pediatrician included), just let her cry and eventually she will fall asleep. Have you met Lily? She is the most head strong little girl I have ever met! Crying can last FOREVER. Needless to say, she has been "sleeping in the middle." Actually, she has been sleeping on Jeff's side because he moved to the guest room the last two nights since Miss Lily takes up one half of the bed and kicks and moves so much. I guess it is her way of making sure she is an only child! Maybe it is only a phase! :)
